Next-generation regenerative skin therapy harnessing the power of cellular messengers and bioactive peptides to accelerate repair, renewal and transformation.
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles — tiny nano-sized particles secreted by stem cells — that carry a powerful cargo of growth factors, microRNA, proteins and signalling molecules. They act as biological messengers, instructing skin cells to repair, regenerate and renew at a cellular level.
When applied to the skin — particularly in conjunction with treatments like Dermapen needling or fractional RF — exosomes support the healing response and collagen stimulation beyond what the treatment achieves alone.
Combined with targeted growth factor peptide complexes, this therapy represents one of the more promising regenerative approaches currently available.

Applied immediately following Dermapen needling, exosomes penetrate deep into the micro-channels created by the treatment, delivering growth factors directly to the dermis for improved healing and treatment response.
Following plasma or fractional RF treatment, exosome therapy shortens recovery and supports the regenerative response, improving collagen stimulation outcomes and accelerating skin renewal.
As a standalone treatment, exosomes are infused into the skin using electroporation or micro-channelling for a non-invasive regenerative experience that improves skin quality with no downtime.
Exosome therapy combined with scalp needling delivers growth factors directly to dormant hair follicles, stimulating new hair growth and improving scalp health.
Our targeted peptide complexes work alongside exosomes to signal specific cellular responses — collagen synthesis, elastin production, melanin regulation and barrier repair — for a precision regenerative outcome.
Exosome therapy can be used following any invasive treatment to support healing, reduce inflammation and improve the quality of recovery.
Traditional growth factor serums contain single proteins that target specific cellular pathways. Exosomes carry a comprehensive package of thousands of bioactive molecules that communicate holistically with cells — triggering a broader, more natural and more effective regenerative response.
They are also far more stable and bioavailable than individual growth factor proteins, meaning more of the active components reach their target and perform their function effectively.
The exosome products we use at SKYNN are sourced from rigorously validated, laboratory-produced stem cell-derived formulations — providing consistent potency and safety.
Discuss at ConsultationIt depends on what you are treating. For significant acne scarring, compromised healing, chronic inflammation or advanced ageing, the improvement in treatment response usually justifies the addition. For routine maintenance on healthy skin, the marginal benefit is smaller and the cost may be better spent on additional treatment sessions or homecare. We will give you an honest view for your specific case rather than adding it by default.
The mechanism is well described — exosomes carry growth factors and signalling molecules that influence cell behaviour, and this is established cell biology. What is less established is the size of the clinical effect in human skin over time. Much of the data circulating in aesthetics comes from laboratory or manufacturer studies rather than independent controlled trials. The treatment is promising and we use it; it is not as thoroughly proven as microneedling or radiofrequency, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise.
You can, as a standalone infusion using electroporation or micro-channelling, and some clients find it useful for skin quality and inflammation. But the mechanism works best when the skin barrier has been opened by needling or plasma, allowing the exosomes to reach the dermis. Applied to intact skin, penetration is considerably more limited. If budget is a constraint, a needling treatment without exosomes generally delivers more than an exosome infusion alone.
Yes. The exosome formulations we use are manufactured in certified laboratories to pharmaceutical standards. They are extensively tested for safety, purity and potency. Exosomes do not contain live cells and are not classed as cell therapies.
Clients seeking to maximise results from needling or fractional RF treatments benefit enormously from the combination approach. Exosome therapy is also highly effective for those with chronic inflammation, compromised barrier, slow healing, hair loss and general skin ageing concerns.
Many clients notice improved skin quality within 1–2 weeks. When combined with needling or fractional RF, results are generally better than the same treatment without exosomes. Full regenerative benefits continue for 3–6 months following a course.
As a standalone infusion, there is no downtime. When combined with needling or fractional RF, exosomes tend to reduce downtime compared to the treatment without them, as they accelerate the healing response.
Exosome products used topically in skin clinics sit in a developing regulatory space. In Australia, products applied to the skin surface are regulated differently from those intended for injection — and injectable exosome preparations are not approved for cosmetic use here.
At SKYNN, exosomes are applied topically following needling or plasma treatment. They are not injected. We use laboratory-produced formulations from suppliers who provide documentation on sourcing and testing, and we are happy to discuss what we use and why at consultation.
If a clinic offers injectable exosome treatment for cosmetic purposes, that is worth asking questions about.
Exosomes are one of the more genuinely interesting developments in clinical skin treatment, and also one of the most oversold. It is worth being clear about where the evidence sits and what the treatment realistically contributes.
Exosomes applied to intact skin have limited penetration. Their value is as an adjunct — applied after needling or plasma, when micro-channels allow them to reach the dermis. Booked alone, expect modest change.
The collagen response comes primarily from the needling or plasma. Exosomes support and extend it. Anyone positioning them as the active ingredient rather than the amplifier has the mechanism backwards.
You will see figures quoted for collagen improvement. Most trace back to manufacturer in-vitro data rather than independent clinical trials in humans. We don't quote them, because we can't stand behind them.
Exosome therapy adds meaningful cost to a treatment. For clients with compromised healing, chronic inflammation or significant scarring it earns that. For straightforward maintenance on healthy skin, it often doesn't, and we will say so.
"Exosomes are an amplifier, not an engine. They make a good treatment better. They do not make a treatment work that wouldn't have worked anyway."
