A clinician-designed treatment pathway focused on reducing active acne, controlling inflammation, improving skin health and minimising future breakouts through progressive corrective treatments. Six appointments, sequenced by your clinician, that treat the causes of acne — not only its symptoms.
Acne Recovery has been developed for skin caught in the cycle of congestion, inflammation and breakouts — whether persistent since adolescence or newly arrived in adulthood.
Active acne
Congested skin
Inflammatory breakouts
Oily skin
Acne-prone skin
Mild post-acne scarring
Acne is not a hygiene problem, and it is rarely solved by scrubbing harder or drying the skin out. It is an inflammatory condition of the pilosebaceous unit — the pore and its oil gland — driven by four interlocking factors: excess sebum production, a build-up of dead skin cells that blocks the pore, an overgrowth of acne bacteria within that blocked environment, and the inflammatory response your immune system mounts against it.
Hormones sit behind much of this. Androgens increase sebum production, which is why breakouts flare through adolescence, around the menstrual cycle, with certain contraceptive changes and during periods of stress, when cortisol amplifies oil output and inflammation together. In Brisbane's warm, humid climate, heavier sweat and sebum flow gives congestion even more opportunity to establish, and habitual sun exposure — often mistaken as helpful because it briefly dries blemishes — thickens the outer skin layer and worsens blockages over the weeks that follow.
There is also the damage acne leaves behind. Every inflamed breakout risks post-inflammatory pigmentation and, when inflammation reaches deep enough, permanent textural scarring. This is why effective acne treatment has two jobs: calming the condition now, and protecting the skin's structure for the future.
The most important thing to understand is that acne-prone skin is frequently over-treated skin. Harsh actives and aggressive routines strip the barrier, and a compromised barrier drives more inflammation — and more breakouts. Genuine acne recovery works with the skin's biology: regulating oil and congestion, calming the inflammatory environment, strengthening the barrier and only then stimulating renewal.
A single acne treatment can clear the surface temporarily, but the drivers of acne — oil regulation, congestion, bacterial balance and inflammation — operate on cycles measured in weeks and months. One appointment cannot re-train those systems, which is why single treatments so often deliver a brief improvement followed by relapse.
A structured pathway works differently. Early appointments focus on decongesting and calming the skin; middle appointments support lymphatic drainage, barrier repair and the skin's microbiome; and only once the skin is stable is regenerative stimulation introduced to refine texture and address early scarring. Each stage prepares the skin for the next — cellular repair layered on a calmed foundation.
The two-to-three week spacing is deliberate: frequent enough to keep congestion and inflammation trending downward between visits, spaced enough for the skin to complete each renewal cycle. Consistency, not intensity, is what breaks the acne cycle — and what a pathway is built to deliver.
Your program includes six clinician-performed treatments, typically scheduled every 2–3 weeks. The sequence below is a representative journey — your clinician will personalise the order and timing to your skin's response.
A targeted corrective treatment that decongests blocked pores, reduces active breakouts and begins regulating the oil flow driving your acne.
Gentle lymphatic stimulation supports the skin’s drainage and immune function, reducing inflammation and puffiness while respecting the skin’s microbiome.
Enzymatic exfoliation dissolves the dead-cell build-up that blocks pores — refining congestion and brightening without stripping the barrier.
A second corrective treatment compounds the first, clearing remaining congestion and consolidating a calmer, more balanced skin environment.
Naturally derived micro-spicules stimulate rapid cellular turnover and renewal, purpose-formulated for acne-prone skin as it stabilises.
With inflammation controlled, collagen induction begins refining texture and addressing early post-acne marks — protecting your skin’s long-term structure.

This series is sequenced around a clinical principle: calm first, correct second, rebuild third. Acne Correction Therapy and enzymatic refinement work on the congestion and oil regulation at the root of breakouts. O-Biome Lymphatic Therapy addresses the inflammatory load — supporting the skin's own clearance systems rather than suppressing them. Only once that foundation is stable do the needling therapies enter, because collagen stimulation performed on actively inflamed skin risks aggravating the very condition being treated.
The technologies are also chosen for what they do not do. Nothing in this pathway strips or dehydrates; every treatment respects the barrier and microbiome, because a compromised barrier is one of the most common reasons acne persists despite treatment.
Positioning the collagen-stimulating treatments at the end of the series is what separates recovery from mere clearing: as breakouts settle, the skin is actively strengthened against the textural marks acne leaves behind.
Acne responds progressively — each appointment builds on a calmer, clearer baseline. Individual results vary with severity, hormones and homecare consistency.
Progressive reduction in inflamed lesions as congestion clears and oil flow regulates.
Visibly fewer blocked pores, blackheads and beneath-the-surface bumps.
Less redness, heat and reactivity as the inflammatory cycle is interrupted.
A resilient, balanced barrier that resists the flare-ups of over-treated skin.
Early post-acne marks and roughness soften as renewal treatments take effect.
A re-trained skin environment that is meaningfully less prone to relapse.

Some clients choose to further enhance their results with regenerative additions layered into their series. These are optional enhancements, recommended only where clinically beneficial, and are not included within the Clinical Series investment. Program Members receive 15% off eligible enhancements.
Full-field plasma stimulation to accelerate renewal once the skin has stabilised.
Advanced regenerative signalling to calm inflammation and support repair.
Polynucleotide therapy supporting deep skin healing and barrier strength.
Blue and red light therapy targeting acne bacteria and inflammation between visits.
Ultrasound-assisted delivery of corrective actives into decongested skin.
Acne Recovery suits active acne, congestion, inflammatory breakouts and oily, acne-prone skin at most grades of severity. Severe cystic acne may warrant medical co-management, which your clinician will discuss openly — and if your acne presents alongside significant scarring or pigmentation, an Advanced SKYNN Consultation may be recommended so a fully personalised program can be designed.
Six appointments scheduled approximately every two to three weeks — most clients complete their series over three to four months, with skin continuing to improve as the new balance establishes.
Minimal. Most treatments in this series leave the skin slightly flushed for a few hours. The needling appointments later in the series involve 24 to 48 hours of redness, and your clinician will guide aftercare at every step.
Some clients experience a brief purging phase in the early weeks as congestion is brought to the surface and cleared — this is a normal, short-lived part of decongesting the skin and settles as the series progresses.
Homecare is critical in acne recovery — typically a barrier-respecting cleanser, targeted actives to regulate oil and congestion, and daily SPF to prevent post-inflammatory pigmentation. Your clinician prescribes your exact routine, with 15% Program Member Pricing on all prescribed skincare.
Congestion and inflammation typically begin improving within the first two to three appointments, with breakout frequency reducing progressively across the series and texture refining in the final stage.
Your clinician will prescribe an individual maintenance plan to protect your results — and if post-acne scarring remains, the Scar Revision pathway is the natural next step.
Clear, healthy skin is achieved through consistency and expert guidance — not one off treatments. Begin your Acne Recovery journey, or start with a consultation and let your clinician map the pathway best suited to your skin.
