A clinician-designed treatment pathway focused on improving acne scarring, surgical scars and textural irregularities through progressive collagen remodelling and advanced skin regeneration. Six appointments engineered for structural change — not temporary cosmetic results.
Scar Revision has been developed for skin carrying the structural marks of its history — from acne scarring to surgical and traumatic scars and the textural irregularities that catch the light.

Post-inflammatory skin remodelling
A scar is the skin's emergency repair. When injury or deep inflammation destroys tissue — whether from a cystic breakout, a surgical incision or trauma — the skin prioritises speed over quality: it lays down repair collagen quickly, in dense parallel bundles quite unlike the organised basket-weave of normal skin. The result is tissue that closes the wound but never quite matches its surroundings in texture, flexibility or light reflection.
Acne scarring has its own architecture. When inflammation destroys collagen faster than the skin replaces it, the surface tethers downward into atrophic scars — the icepick, boxcar and rolling scars that give scarred skin its shadowed, uneven texture. Fibrous bands beneath rolling scars physically pull the surface down, which is why they seem to move with your expressions. Less commonly, over-exuberant repair builds raised hypertrophic scars. Stretch marks are a cousin of the same process: dermal tearing from rapid stretching, repaired with the same imperfect collagen.
Two facts shape everything about treating scars. First, scars are structural — they live in the dermis, so no cream can meaningfully remodel them. Second, scar tissue is not static: it remains biologically active and responsive to stimulus for years, even decades. Skin that is given repeated, controlled reasons to remodel will gradually replace disorganised repair collagen with healthier, better-organised tissue.
That is the entire premise of scar revision: not disguising scars, but re-running the repair process deliberately — this time with time, control and the right stimulus, so the skin rebuilds closer to its original design.
Scar remodelling is the slowest project in aesthetic medicine, and honest clinics say so. Each collagen-remodelling stimulus initiates a cycle that takes roughly three months to mature — and a single cycle might improve a scar by a modest fraction. Meaningful revision is the accumulation of many cycles, each rebuilding a little more of the dermal architecture.
This is why the pathway includes repeated needling, staged resurfacing and tightening rather than one dramatic intervention: progressive treatment allows aggressive-enough stimulation for real change while giving the skin full recovery between rounds — the difference between remodelling tissue and re-injuring it.
The wider spacing of this series, four to six weeks, reflects that biology. Scar revision rewards patience and punishes haste; a structured, clinician-monitored sequence is how you get the first without paying the second.
Your program includes six clinician-performed treatments, typically scheduled every 4–6 weeks. The sequence below is a representative journey — your clinician will personalise the order and timing to your skin's response.
Collagen induction begins — thousands of micro-channels through the scar tissue trigger the release of growth factors and the first remodelling cycle.
A second needling round compounds the first, breaking down fibrous tethering and progressively softening rolling and boxcar scarring.
Fractional energy remodels the surface architecture directly — columns of controlled renewal that level shadowed edges and refine texture.
A third induction round deepens the cumulative remodelling, targeting the most resistant areas identified at your reviews.
Radiofrequency heats the deeper dermis, contracting and strengthening the newly built collagen and improving overall firmness across the treated area.
A final resurfacing pass consolidates the result — refining residual texture so the skin reflects light smoothly and evenly.
Needling and fractional resurfacing attack scarring from opposite directions, and the series alternates them for exactly that reason. Needling works from within — mechanically disrupting fibrous scar bands and inducing collagen through the full thickness of the scar. Fractional resurfacing works from the surface — vaporising micro-columns of scarred tissue and forcing fresh, organised skin to rebuild in their place. Radiofrequency then does what neither can: contracting and reinforcing the new collagen matrix so the remodelled tissue is firm as well as smooth.
The sequencing respects collagen's timeline. Early needling rounds establish remodelling momentum; resurfacing arrives once the skin has demonstrated its healing response; tightening consolidates near the end when there is new collagen worth strengthening. Four-to-six week intervals give every cycle room to mature before the next begins.
Your progress photography matters more in this series than any other — scar change is gradual enough that memory undersells it. Reviewing your imaging with your clinician at each stage keeps the improvement, and the plan, honest and visible.
Scar remodelling continues for months after your final appointment — the series builds structural change that keeps maturing. Individual results vary with scar type, depth and age.
Progressive lifting and smoothing of rolling, boxcar and shallow icepick scarring.
A smoother, more even surface that reflects light cleanly rather than in shadows.
Surgical and traumatic scars become flatter, softer and less distinct.
Fibrous bands beneath rolling scars break down, freeing the surface.
Denser, healthier dermal collagen through and around treated scars.
Remodelling that keeps maturing for months beyond your final visit.

Some clients choose to further enhance their results with regenerative additions layered into their series. These are optional enhancements, recommended only where clinically beneficial, and are not included within the Clinical Series investment. Program Members receive 15% off eligible enhancements.
Full-field plasma stimulation amplifying remodelling across the treated area.
Growth-factor-rich signalling that enriches collagen quality after needling.
Polynucleotide therapy supporting deep dermal repair within scar tissue.
Light therapy accelerating recovery between remodelling cycles.
Ultrasound-assisted delivery of regenerative actives into treated scars.
Scar Revision suits atrophic acne scarring, surgical and traumatic scars, textural irregularity and, where clinically appropriate, stretch marks. Your clinician grades your scar types at your first appointment — deep icepick scarring or raised scars may need adjunctive approaches, discussed openly, and complex cases can be designed through an Advanced SKYNN Consultation.
Six appointments scheduled approximately every four to six weeks — typically six to eight months, with remodelling continuing well beyond your final visit.
Needling involves 24 to 72 hours of redness; fractional resurfacing involves several days of visible recovery as the treated columns heal. Your clinician schedules the bigger treatments around your calendar and guides aftercare precisely.
Honest answer: significant, progressive improvement rather than erasure. Most clients see meaningful smoothing and softening across the series, with results continuing to mature for months — your progress photography will document the change objectively.
Yes. Scar tissue remains biologically responsive for decades, and mature scars remodel well — they simply require the repeated stimulation this pathway is built to deliver.
Regeneration-supportive homecare — typically vitamin A to drive remodelling, barrier support through recovery periods, and strict daily SPF, since healing skin pigments easily. Program Members receive 15% off all prescribed skincare.
Texture typically begins improving after the second or third appointment, with the most visible change emerging in the final third of the series and continuing for three or more months afterward.
Smoother, stronger skin is achieved through consistency and expert guidance — not one off treatments. Begin your Scar Revision journey, or start with a consultation and let your clinician map the pathway best suited to your skin.
